Xero, Integrations, and making business management a breeze.

We’re currently running through a Xero deployment, and anyone who’s run a business (or been near anyone who’s run a business), knows how painful it can be come tax time. (Annual Reporting seems like a great idea until June in most cases).

I wanted to share a few great Xero addons that make managing your business affairs a breeze, and put all of the information and yours & your accountants fingertips. (Xero is Cloud Based so you can invite your accountant in as an advisor, they can sort out your chart and get everything ready for you to get going, or you can do it yourself).

  • Shoeboxed – Receipt Capture, Categorisation and Retention – You can snap photos of receipts and use Optical Character Recognition, they also offer a system referred to as a “Magic Envelope” which lets you throw your receipts in the post and get someone else to process them. Once they’re processed you can file them against your automated bank rec in Xero.
  • Chaser – Credit control addon that allows you to followup on outstanding invoices and payments, escalating emails to various workflow chains (senior management) etc as required. Good for companies that bill a lot of people and want semi-automated management of their Accounts Receivables.
  • Stripe – It’s 2019, if you don’t take Credit Cards, you’re potentially limiting your market. Anything from cash-flow issues to points programs incentivise your clients to use them, and Stripe makes it a breeze. Sign up for an account, verify your bank details, your company details, connect it to Xero and it’ll take care of the rest. Your customers get a “Pay Now” option online and in the PDF. It’s neat. Stripe also lets you process manual payments in the back-end.
  • TSheets – Timesheet management, reporting and some really cool remote worker monitoring to ensure your billables are protected. Great for those with field workers or remote work forces.
  • Futrli – An up an coming next-gen Business Intelligence tool mixed with some AI and cool algorithms. Allows you to forecast “What If” scenarios and see impacts across the business including cost, revenue and overhead forecasting. Isn’t specific to Xero either, has a lot of integrations.

If you’re interested in deploying any of the above solutions, we work in a Joint-Venture with AFP Accounting & Advisory, and would be happy to mutually work on a solution for you. Get in touch for more info.
